Proteomic Variability and Nutrient-Related Proteins across Pigmented and Non-Pigmented Rice Grains

چکیده
Rice protein is considered an important dietary source. Information regarding rice nutrient-related expression still scarce, hence further study investigating this aspect highly needed. Herein, we applied sequential window acquisition of all theoretical mass spectra (SWATH-MS) for a comparative proteomic analysis across six different Malaysian varieties. These consisted black (BR: PH9 and BALI), red (RR: MRQ100 MRM16), white (WR: MRQ76 MR297). This aimed to unravel proteins if their expressions were significantly A total 4022 quantified found be expressed varieties with false discovery rate (FDR) < 1% p 0.05. While among 1792 differentially (DEPs) that identified, 74 DEPs had functions related nutrient biosynthesis. There higher key enzymes the carotenoid amylopectin biosynthesis pathways seed storage proteins, i.e., prolamins glutelins in RR. Glycoproteins such as cupin germin-like protein, well are involved thiamine anthocyanin abundantly BR. WR was particularly enriched essential amino acids (methionine arginine), vitamin B, unsaturated fatty acid. provides us insights into differential functional properties shaping grain pigmentations plant immunity, contributing diverse health benefits daily food human consumption.

متن کاملOzone Sensitivity and Catalase Activity in Pigmented and Non-Pigmented Strains of Serratia Marcescens
BACKGROUND Ozone exposure rapidly leads to bacterial death, making ozone an effective disinfectant in food industry and health care arena. However, microbial defenses may moderate this effect and play a role in the effective use of oxidizing agents for disinfection. Serratia marcescens is an opportunistic pathogen, expressing genes differentially during infection of a human host. A better under...
متن کاملGenetic and Virulent Difference Between Pigmented and Non-pigmented Staphylococcus aureus
Staphyloxanthin (STX), a golden carotenoid pigment produced by Staphylococcus aureus, is suggested to act as an important virulence factor due to its antioxidant properties. Restraining biosynthesis of STX was considered as an indicator of virulence decline in pigmented S. aureus isolates. However, it is not clear whether natural nonpigmented S. aureus isolates have less virulence than pigmente...
متن کاملHealth-Promoting Compounds in Pigmented Thai and Wild Rice
Organic pigmented Thai rice and wild rice are commonly available in specialized Italian markets and food shops, and they are gaining popularity among consumers demanding healthy foods. Indeed, the typical colour of kernels, which is the unique characteristic of pigmented cereals, is due to the accumulation of pigments that are also responsible for a number of healthy effects. The aim of this st...
